What E30 Means
Induction zones show an illuminated indicator when a burner is active, and the control checks that indicator is actually working. Wolf's Induction Cooktop Technical & Service Manual logs E30 through E34 for these ON LED failures across the different generators, and names an LED board failure for E30 - with the glass assembly as the replacement if a LED tests bad - and generator board failures for the others.
Common Causes of E30
- A failed indicator LED on the board bonded behind the glass
- An induction generator board problem driving that indicator
- A connection problem between the generator and the indicator board
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Look at the cooktop in a dimly lit kitchen and note which indicator is not lighting. That single observation maps directly to one of these codes and saves diagnostic time.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- The indicators are behind the glass surface, so on this design a genuinely failed LED means the glass assembly rather than a bulb.
- A cooking zone that runs without its indicator lighting is a burn risk for anyone who assumes the surface is cold, which is a reason to fix rather than live with.
- The manual points at two different parts depending on which code appeared, so reading the exact code matters before anything is ordered.
Opening a panel to inspect or repair something yourself doesn't automatically cancel your manufacturer's warranty — but it can risk accidental damage, and some manufacturers do have specific service conditions. Check your product's warranty terms, or ask us, before deciding.
