The RT484F combines four open burners with a French top on a 48-inch rangetop from Wolf’s original R/RT generation — the French top on its own dedicated burner and control, raised knobs forward of the counter line, no oven beneath any of it.
A French top’s solid cooking surface heats from below through a design that spreads heat unevenly by intent, hotter at the center and cooler toward the edges, so uneven heat by itself is not necessarily a problem — a French top that will not heat at all, or has developed a cold spot where there should not be one, is the complaint actually worth a service call.
