What 0121 Means

Wolf's M Series Troubleshooting Manual lists 0121 as the right convection element relay shorted in the upper cavity and 0122 as the lower. The convection element is the ring around the fan at the back of the cavity, and a shorted relay means the control's feedback says that element is still connected after it asked for it off.

Common Causes of 0121

  • Welded contacts on the right convection relay after long service
  • A feedback circuit on the relay board reporting the relay's state incorrectly
  • A short in the convection element wiring keeping the sensed circuit closed

🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try

Kill the supply at the breaker and leave it off. Before you do, note whether convection cooking has been running hotter than the set temperature lately - a relay that will not release produces exactly that.

⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That

  • Convection elements sit behind the rear baffle in the cavity, and a circuit that may still be live is the wrong thing to be reaching past.
  • The relay board carries every heating circuit in the oven at full voltage, so it is not a part to probe at home.
  • Replacing the element because convection is running hot misses the point entirely when the relay is what is stuck.

Opening a panel to inspect or repair something yourself doesn't automatically cancel your manufacturer's warranty — but it can risk accidental damage, and some manufacturers do have specific service conditions. Check your product's warranty terms, or ask us, before deciding.

FAQ

0121 FAQ

It fits the pattern. An element that stays energised when it should be cycling off pushes the cavity past its set point, and the control notices the relay feedback disagreeing.

Until it is diagnosed, treat the oven as one appliance and leave it off at the breaker - the relays share one board, and a stuck contact is not the problem to cook around.
