Wolf Range

Wolf GR488

Model # GR488

Wolf built the GR488 as a 48-inch range with eight open burners, and unlike the Dual Fuel line it keeps gas on both sides of the appliance — the oven cavity is heated by a gas burner and regulated by an oven thermostat rather than by an electric element and a solid-state sensor.

Ignition faults across the GR488’s burners are diagnosed one burner at a time, because the spark module fires all of them together — so a module problem shows up everywhere at once, while a single stubborn burner is local to that burner.

Knowing how these numbers are built saves time when parts are ordered: GR for Gas Range, 48 for the cabinet width in inches and 8 for the eight open burners.

FAQ

Wolf GR488 FAQ

Not fundamentally — the burners, spark module and oven components are the same parts in greater number. What a wider range does change is access, so telling us which burner or which section is affected shortens the visit considerably.

Before anything else, if you can safely reach the supply valve, shut the gas off, leave the burners and any electrical switches alone, ventilate the room and call us. A gas smell is a safety call, not a routine service booking.
