What 3C20 Means
The counterpart to 3B20: Wolf's M Series Troubleshooting Manual logs 3C20 at priority 2 when the measured supply is above the range the oven expects. High voltage is harder on electronics than low voltage, which is why the oven bothers to record it.
Common Causes of 3C20
- A supply running above nominal, from the utility or from a transformer tap
- A neutral connection problem that raises the voltage on one leg
- A measurement problem on the relay board, which is the answer once the supply is confirmed normal
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Note whether other electronics in the house have been failing early, whether lamps burn out unusually fast, and whether the utility has been working in the street. Those are the signs that go with a genuinely high supply.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- A neutral problem can put a dangerously high voltage on part of the house circuit, which is an electrician's call rather than an appliance repair.
- Measuring the incoming supply under load means live work at the oven's terminal block.
- Changing oven parts because of a supply problem is an expensive way to leave everything else in the house exposed to the same problem.
Opening a panel to inspect or repair something yourself doesn't automatically cancel your manufacturer's warranty — but it can risk accidental damage, and some manufacturers do have specific service conditions. Check your product's warranty terms, or ask us, before deciding.
