What 2631 Means
Wolf's M Series Troubleshooting Manual lists 2631 as a door switch circuit problem on the upper cavity and 2632 on the lower. The door switch tells the control whether the door is open or shut - it drives the cavity light, gates the clean cycle, and feeds into several safety decisions. This code means the board cannot read that switch reliably.
Common Causes of 2631
- A door switch that has failed or fallen out of adjustment
- A broken or chafed wire in the door switch harness
- A problem in the switch input circuit on the relay board
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Test it the easy way: open the door and see whether the cavity light comes on, then close it and check it goes out. A light that behaves backwards or not at all points straight at the door switch circuit.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- Door switches on built-in ovens are mounted in the frame rather than accessible from the cavity, so this is not a screwdriver-and-torch job.
- The switch input runs back to the relay board where line voltage is present, so tracing the problem means isolating the appliance.
- Bending a switch actuator to make it read correctly usually changes how the door closes and creates a second problem.
Opening a panel to inspect or repair something yourself doesn't automatically cancel your manufacturer's warranty — but it can risk accidental damage, and some manufacturers do have specific service conditions. Check your product's warranty terms, or ask us, before deciding.
