What 0931 Means
Wolf's M Series Troubleshooting Manual defines 0931 as the right convection fan triac shorted in the upper cavity, 0932 in the lower. The triac is the solid-state switch driving that fan, and shorted means it is conducting when the control wants it off - the usual result is a convection fan that keeps turning after everything else has stopped.
Common Causes of 0931
- A triac that has failed in the conducting state
- A convection fan motor problem that damaged the triac driving it
- A relay board problem on that fan channel
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Listen for a fan that runs on indefinitely rather than stopping when the oven does. That is different from the cooling fan, which is meant to run on for a while after a cycle, so note which fan you are hearing and for how long.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- The convection fan sits behind the rear baffle inside the cavity, which is not somewhere to reach with the oven energised or hot.
- A fan motor replaced because it will not stop turning does nothing when the switch feeding it has failed closed.
- Both convection fan channels look the same on the board, and identifying the right one without the service reference is guesswork.
