Wolf induction cooktops manage each zone independently, so when one stops heating, it’s rarely the whole unit failing at once.
Check Your Cookware First
Induction requires magnetic cookware to function. If a zone shows E02, the cooktop simply isn’t detecting compatible cookware — try a different pan before assuming a fault.
Overheating Protection
If a pan was left heating too long, the zone may show E1 as a protective shutdown. Wolf’s own guidance is to let it cool and power-cycle the breaker for 30 seconds before retesting.
When It’s a Genuine Sensor Fault
If E1 returns immediately after the breaker reset, Wolf’s own documentation says no further troubleshooting is available — that’s confirmed technician territory.
Ventilation Matters
Blocked cabinet ventilation underneath the cooktop is a common contributing cause — keep the space below clear. Visit our cooktop repair page to book a diagnostic.
