What U1 (Convection Steam Oven) Means
U1 means one leg of the supply has gone missing. Wolf's CSO24 Convection Steam Oven Service Manual defines it as no signal on the L2 mains connection, with two causes: no pole conductor connected to the L2 clamp, or a circuit breaker or fuse that has operated. The appliance is running on part of the supply it needs.
Common Causes of U1 (Convection Steam Oven)
- A tripped breaker or blown fuse on one leg of the supply
- A conductor never connected, or disconnected, at the L2 clamp - common right after an installation or a move
- A loose connection at the appliance terminal that has opened
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Check your breaker panel first. A tripped breaker or a blown fuse on one leg is the simplest explanation and costs nothing to look at - and if it trips again straight away, stop and leave it off.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- A breaker that trips again immediately is telling you there is a problem drawing current, and repeatedly resetting it is not a diagnostic step.
- The L2 clamp is inside the appliance connection box, which is live terminal work rather than a panel check.
- A supply leg lost to a loose terminal can arc and heat at the connection, which is why it belongs with an electrician rather than a wait-and-see.
Opening a panel to inspect or repair something yourself doesn't automatically cancel your manufacturer's warranty — but it can risk accidental damage, and some manufacturers do have specific service conditions. Check your product's warranty terms, or ask us, before deciding.
