What U0 (Convection Steam Oven) Means
U0 is an overvoltage message. Wolf's CSO24 Convection Steam Oven Service Manual maps it to two errors - a neutral voltage above 340V and a supply above 270VAC for a second - and names overvoltage in the mains supply, a break in the neutral conductor, and a mains calibration error as the causes. A broken neutral is the one that matters beyond the appliance.
Common Causes of U0 (Convection Steam Oven)
- A break in the neutral conductor, which can raise the voltage on part of the installation
- Genuine overvoltage from the supply
- A mains calibration error inside the appliance, which is the manual's third possibility
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Look around the house rather than at the oven: lamps burning out quickly, other electronics failing, lights brightening when heavy loads switch. Those are the signs of a neutral problem, and they affect everything on the circuit, not just this appliance.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- A broken neutral is an electrical installation problem that can put damaging voltage across other appliances, which makes it an electrician's call rather than an appliance repair.
- Measuring supply voltage under load means live work in the consumer unit or at the appliance connection.
- Replacing parts in the steam oven while a neutral problem persists means watching the replacements fail the same way.
Opening a panel to inspect or repair something yourself doesn't automatically cancel your manufacturer's warranty — but it can risk accidental damage, and some manufacturers do have specific service conditions. Check your product's warranty terms, or ask us, before deciding.
