What No Broil element detect Means
Same detection logic as the bake sections, applied to the broil element in the roof of the cavity. The control energised it and measured no current. Wolf's E Series Technical & Service Manual logs the message at priority 3 and directs the technician to check that element and its wiring.
Common Causes of No Broil element detect
- A broil element that has burned out, often visible as a break or a blister in the tube
- A loose or burnt terminal connection at the rear of the broil element
- A broil relay on the relay module not closing, so the element never sees power
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Test it the obvious way: select broil with the cavity empty and watch through the door for the element to glow. Nothing happening confirms what the message says and is worth reporting.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- Broil elements sit directly overhead and hold heat, so the breaker goes off and the cavity cools before anybody reaches inside.
- A visibly intact element can still be open internally, and a visibly damaged one can be a sign of a relay problem that will kill the replacement too.
- The broil circuit runs at the oven's full heating voltage, which makes any live testing a job for someone with the right equipment.
Opening a panel to inspect or repair something yourself doesn't automatically cancel your manufacturer's warranty — but it can risk accidental damage, and some manufacturers do have specific service conditions. Check your product's warranty terms, or ask us, before deciding.
