What 1121 Means
Wolf's M Series Troubleshooting Manual lists 1121 as the upper cavity's right convection element relay reading open when it was commanded closed, and 1122 as the lower. The convection ring on that side is not being fed, so convection cooking loses part of its heat while the fan carries on circulating air.
Common Causes of 1121
- A convection relay whose contacts no longer close
- An open right convection element, which reads the same way at the relay's feedback
- A failed connection at the convection element terminals behind the rear baffle
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Run a convection bake with the cavity empty and see whether the oven still reaches its set temperature, and how long it takes. A convection cycle that works but runs slow and uneven matches one element section being out.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- The convection element is behind the rear baffle inside the cavity, so getting to it means dismantling the cavity interior rather than lifting a panel.
- Feedback that reads open at the relay does not distinguish a dead relay from a dead element, and only measurement settles it.
- Convection elements are model-specific and the wrong one either does not fit the baffle or does not match the fan's airflow.
Opening a panel to inspect or repair something yourself doesn't automatically cancel your manufacturer's warranty — but it can risk accidental damage, and some manufacturers do have specific service conditions. Check your product's warranty terms, or ask us, before deciding.
