Ignition Faults Are Most Common
A dirty, wet, or worn igniter is the most frequent cause, and shows as an IGN error code on models with a display. Cleaning the igniter and burner cap resolves a meaningful share of these on its own.
When It’s a Communication Fault Instead
If the burner lights fine but the display shows a fault, that may instead be ERR OC — a display-to-control-board communication issue unrelated to the burner itself.
