What 2A30 Means
The M Series relay board carries more than one processor, and they check in with each other. Wolf's M Series Troubleshooting Manual logs 2A30 at priority 3 when that internal conversation fails - a problem inside the board rather than along a harness to another module.
Common Causes of 2A30
- An internal communication error between processors on the relay board
- Electrical noise disturbing the internal bus
- A relay board problem developing after long thermal cycling
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Power down at the breaker for a minute and bring the oven back up. Note whether the code returns immediately at power-up or only after the oven has been running for a while - intermittent and permanent are diagnosed differently.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- This is entirely internal to the board, so there is no connector to reseat and no harness to inspect from outside.
- Relay boards are model and revision specific, and fitting a near-match creates behavior that is harder to diagnose than the original problem.
- An oven whose internal supervision is unreliable may behave unpredictably part-way through a cycle, which is a poor thing to discover with dinner in it.
Opening a panel to inspect or repair something yourself doesn't automatically cancel your manufacturer's warranty — but it can risk accidental damage, and some manufacturers do have specific service conditions. Check your product's warranty terms, or ask us, before deciding.
