What OPP Means
OPP appears on double-oven installations when one oven is operated while the other is running a self-clean cycle — the two ovens share systems that can't safely run both functions at once.
Common Causes of OPP
- Attempting to bake or broil in one cavity while the other self-cleans
- Timing overlap between two scheduled cycles
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Wait until the self-clean cycle on the other oven finishes before attempting to use the second cavity.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- This is an intentional safety interlock, not a hardware fault — there's nothing to "fix" by forcing the second oven to start.
- Repeatedly trying to override it by power-cycling risks interrupting a self-clean cycle mid-run, which can itself trigger a different lockout fault.
- If OPP appears without a self-clean cycle actually running, that points to a control-board sensing fault that does need a technician.
